Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the success and growth of engineers through regular 1:1s, actionable feedback, onboarding, and tailored development plans
  • •Set the bar on technical decisions by reviewing architecture/design docs and critical code, managing technical debt, and keeping defect rates low
  • •Drive scoping, costing, estimation, cross-functional communication, and early risk escalation to deliver on time
  • •Advocate for developer experience and high-standard API design across the team’s surface area
  • •Lead high-quality QA focused on correctness and completeness, and partner with Product and Design on discovery and roadmap strategy

Key Requirements

  • •6+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years as an engineering manager or tech lead manager equivalent
  • •Track record of growing engineers and maintaining a high bar for technical excellence
  • •Experience establishing foundations in an ambiguous, still-forming domain with clarity, structure, and execution rigor
  • •Deep technical understanding of distributed systems, data modeling, and system architecture, ideally with real-time or low-latency systems exposure
  • •Ability to partner naturally with Product and Design and advocate for the customer’s perspective
