Job Summary

Own and execute end-to-end procurement for the Japan Market Lead, including category strategy, sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and implementation. Partner with business units to influence outcomes, drive cost optimization and value creation, and perform spend analysis, market research, benchmarking, and competitive intelligence. Lead Source-to-Contract activities (RFI/RFP/RFQ), manage supplier onboarding and due diligence, track savings through closure, and lead a team of three.

•Serve as primary procurement partner for assigned business units, building stakeholder relationships and influencing outcomes.
•Lead end-to-end Source to Contract activities, including RFI/RFP/RFQ preparation, sourcing execution, negotiation, contracting, and implementation.
•Ensure compliance of contracts with Amex policies, regulatory requirements, and Third-Party Management standards; support supplier onboarding and due diligence.
•Build savings and value realization plans, track benefits to closure, report sourcing/savings status, and lead a team of 3 colleagues.

Key Requirements

•Hold a professional procurement qualification (e.g., ISM, CIPS or similar).
•Have 5–10+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, category management, contracts, or related fields.
•Demonstrate end-to-end procurement experience across the Source to Contract lifecycle.
•Strong knowledge of contracts, negotiation strategies, supplier management, and procurement risk.
•Japanese and English communication skills (both languages mandatory).
