Job Function: Legal, Risk & Compliance

Key Responsibilities

•Act as Lead ERISA & employee benefits attorney; provide strategic regulatory and transactional counsel on compliance for US benefits programs.
•Negotiate benefit plan documents (BAA, HRA, adoption assistance, gestational surrogacy) and advise on design and claims processing.
•Provide strategic guidance on product offerings, taxation, privacy, fiduciary obligations, and state regulations for reproductive care.
•Monitor regulatory developments from DOL, IRS, and HHS and provide proactive guidance on emerging ERISA obligations.
•Collaborate with Finance, HR, Product, Sales, Customer Success and Operations to identify legal risks, manage outside counsel, and help develop departmental processes and training.

Key Requirements

•J.D. from an accredited law school; active bar membership in good standing.
•5-8+ years of legal experience, with significant focus on ERISA/employee benefits law at a law firm, in-house legal department, or a combination of both.
•Demonstrated knowledge of federal employee benefits law, including ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, HIPAA, ACA, CAA, COBRA, and FMLA.
•Strong understanding of healthcare privacy and data security law, including HIPAA and state privacy frameworks.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex legal concepts for non-legal stakeholders.
