Key Responsibilities

•Build and scale high-performance backend systems in Rust that power Bitpanda’s trading and pricing infrastructure.
•Develop microservices and internal tooling using Python across a distributed systems environment.
•Design clean, reliable, and maintainable solutions within an event-driven architecture.
•Work on real-time systems handling market data, pricing, hedging, and asset management across multiple asset classes.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system scalability, reliability, and performance.

Key Requirements

•4+ years of backend engineering experience building scalable, production-grade systems.
•Strong hands-on experience with Rust, plus solid working knowledge of Python.
•Experience with distributed systems, asynchronous programming, and event-driven architectures.
•Familiarity with REST APIs, websockets, relational and/or NoSQL databases, and messaging systems such as Kafka or ZeroMQ.
•Bonus points if you have experience with AWS, trading platforms, market data systems, or an interest in crypto and financial markets.
