Job Summary

Learn and support Surface Data Logging (SDL) activities by collecting on-location geological and drilling data for customers. Under direct supervision, you’ll develop mud logging knowledge, gather drilled cuttings by depth intervals, transport and record cuttings, and maintain clean work areas. You’ll complete required training, induction courses, and safety/offshore or customer-specific certification appointments to be able to support designated rig sites.

•Under direct supervision, learn the SDL service line to provide on-location geological and drilling data collection and reporting to the customer.
•Learn the basics of drilling theory and mud logging techniques.
•Gather drilled cuttings by depth intervals.
•Transport drilled cuttings and keep records of intervals transported.
•Attend training and complete induction courses, plus safety/offshore or customer-specific certifications to work at designated rig sites.

Key Requirements

•Skills acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree in a STEM discipline or Geology.
•Ability to demonstrate technical aptitude.
•Must possess good communication skills, arithmetic, data entry and recording skills.
•Must have successfully passed company tests, or met task guideline requirements.
