Job Summary

Design and support substation protection and control (P&C) infrastructure for transmission and distribution projects. Provide CAD-backed design and drafting assistance, generate detailed design deliverables (schematics, wiring, interconnections, panel layouts), and collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure code-compliant, accurate, and maintainable designs for the Duluth, GA office.

Key Responsibilities

•Collect, compile, and analyze data from sites, surveys, blueprints, schematics, and other sources to support substation P&C design and drawing development activities.
•Use CAD software to prepare substation P&C drawings with high precision (control schematics, wiring diagrams, interconnection diagrams, panel layouts).
•Provide technical design assistance with GD&T, tolerances, and quantity calculations to ensure constructibility and maintainability per design specs.
•Verify calculations, design changes, and interpretation of contract plans; escalate issues when needed.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams and engineers to ensure plans meet codes, standards, and client requirements.

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma.
•3+ years of post-education experience in a substation design role (P&C design) for electrical power transmission and distribution projects.
•Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
•Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
•Familiar with drafting and design principles, practices, processes, methods and techniques; familiar with relevant codes and regulations for electrical/substation design.
