Job Summary

Schedule and dispatch trucks to convey aggregates, asphalt, ready mix concrete, and paving materials. Operate dispatch systems and manage assignments via email, phone, cell phone, radio, and computer. Coordinate day and night brokered truck coverage, maintain logistics knowledge (routes, lanes, backhauls, competitors), resolve transportation issues, and support billing and bidding activities while focusing on customer service and safety.

Key Responsibilities

•Schedule and dispatch trucks for conveyance of materials using radio, telephone, or computer.
•Operate dispatch systems and serve as the central communication link for the Southern Division transportation department.
•Schedule brokered trucks for internal and external aggregate projects for day and night work, ensuring efficient utilization.
•Maintain logistics knowledge (routes, lanes, backhauls, competitors) and manage efficient movement of all materials while focusing on customer service.
•Coordinate resolution of transportation issues with internal project managers, forepersons, and external customers; maintain broker relationships and compliance.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED, with 4 to 6 years of related experience/training (or an equivalent combination).
•Proficiency operating email, phone, cell phone, JWS (aggregate), and EIS Libra (asphalt) dispatch systems.
•Excellent oral and written communication skills with a customer-service orientation.
•Detail-oriented with strong time management and organizational skills.
•Proficient with Windows and Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
