Key Responsibilities

  • •Collaborate with Gameplay and Combat Design teams to propose how VFX can improve player feedback and the overall experience.
  • •Author believable, striking benchmark visual effects aligned with art direction.
  • •Create gameplay-linked VFX tied to player actions (weapon effects, hit reactions, magic spells) with well-timed feedback.
  • •Collaborate with VFX and Tech Art teams to suggest technology improvements and workflow/pipeline efficiency.
  • •Optimize VFX assets within approved budgets while considering technical limitations of development platforms, including organizing asset libraries and textures for reuse.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years of proven experience in realtime VFX.
  • •Proficiency with a game engine special effects system (Unreal, Crytek, Unity, etc.).
  • •Deep knowledge of authoring simulations such as destruction, fire, smoke, and fog using tools like Houdini, Thinking Particles, or Fume Fx.
  • •Strong understanding of authoring VFX for physically based rendering and lighting.
  • •Experience adapting to in-house tools and a changing technology stack; ability to script via code and/or node-based systems.
