Key Responsibilities

  • •Automate recurring bookkeeping by integrating spend management and other tools with DATEV and building rules and API-based connectors.
  • •Migrate bookkeeping and VAT compliance off external providers into a DATEV environment with clean chart-of-accounts, documentation, and defensible audit trails.
  • •Own intercompany reconciliation and consolidation across entities to prepare the group as it scales toward IFRS.
  • •Drive tool setup and integrations by connecting Payhawk and feeder systems with DATEV, validating tax/account mappings, and designing procure-to-pay and expense workflows.
  • •Deliver clear, timely financial data within agreed timelines, proactively flag risks for closings/filings/audits, and manage relationships with external tax advisors.

Key Requirements

  • •Real in-house accounting experience including AR/AP, bank reconciliations, accruals/deferrals, and monthly closing; ideally in DATEV Rechnungswesen or a comparable system.
  • •Experience migrating bookkeeping and VAT compliance from manual/external processes to an in-house automated setup you own, including chart-of-accounts and VAT code design, SOPs, and measurable improvements.
  • •Strong intercompany and multi-entity experience, including issuing/booking intercompany invoices, monthly reconciliations, and producing audit-ready schedules for consolidation and group reporting.
  • •German GAAP fluency, with no hesitation about IFRS becoming relevant as the business scales.
  • •Comfort working independently with periodic review, trusted with real scope early.
