Job Summary

Lead NPR’s total rewards strategy by modernizing benefits and compensation programs to attract, reward, and retain top talent. Own benefits, retirement plan oversight, compensation planning, and total rewards compliance, partnering across People Systems, Finance, Legal, and external vendors. Serve as a people leader for the benefits and compensation team, while strengthening controls, auditing data, and improving legacy processes and systems to ensure accurate reporting and eligibility rules.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the overall benefits strategy and drive data-driven recommendations and program improvements.
•Provide strategic direction and oversight for benefits, leave programs, and retirement plans, ensuring compliance testing, accurate plan documents, and successful audits.
•Oversee vendor and broker relationships and direct benefit enrollment and leave program administration.
•Develop compensation strategy, manage annual compensation planning, and own total rewards budgets in partnership with Finance.
•Partner with People Systems/HRIS to ensure total rewards are accurately configured, conduct data auditing and internal controls, and lead compliance activities (e.g., ACA, Form 5500, and ERISA reporting), while mentoring the benefits and compensation team.

Salary: USD 167,000 - 184,500 annually

Key Requirements

•10+ years in benefits and compensation with at least 4 years in a leadership role, including total rewards strategy and program administration.
•Advanced enterprise HRIS expertise, including managing/configuring/optimizing UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) modules.
•Strong benefits and retirement plan administration experience, including employer-sponsored retirement plans (403(b) and 401(k)) and state-mandated benefit programs.
•Robust ERISA fiduciary knowledge, including nondiscrimination testing, plan audits, Form 5500 reporting, and experience working with recordkeepers, trustees, and investment advisors.
•Excellent communication skills to advise senior leadership and negotiate effectively with insurance and benefits vendors.
