Key Responsibilities

  • •Undertake echocardiographic investigations including adult, contrast, bubble studies, 3D and dobutamine echo; assist with transoesophageal echocardiograms using Doppler, colour flow mapping and tissue Doppler imaging
  • •Prioritise echocardiographic investigations based on clinical need and provide professional guidance in echocardiographic matters
  • •Perform and interpret 12-lead ECGs; fit, remove and analyse 24-hour Holter/BP monitors; perform and interpret Exercise Treadmill Tests
  • •Assist in Syncope assessment including Tilt Table Testing, Autonomic Function Testing, Signal Average ECG
  • •Maintain CRM device interrogations in clinic/inpatients/pre-assessment and manage electronic records and reporting systems

Key Requirements

  • •BSc (Hons) in Clinical Physiology or BSc in Healthcare Science (Cardiac Physiology) or PTP equivalence
  • •Transthoracic (TTE) Level 2 accreditation by the British Society of Echocardiography or Adult Transthoracic Echocardiography Certification by the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI)
  • •Knowledge and experience of advanced and highly specialised procedures acquired through accredited courses
  • •Ability to perform a range of specialist diagnostic investigations on patients in a variety of clinical settings
  • •Able to perform and report resting transthoracic scans and rhythm analysis to permanent (CRM), temporary (Holter), rest (ECG) and exercise (ETT) modalities
