Key Responsibilities

  • •Design mine waste facilities, including tailings storage facilities and waste rock dumps, to support safe, sustainable mining operations.
  • •Conduct geotechnical and environmental assessments, including stability and seepage analyses, to strengthen facility integrity and inform decisions.
  • •Develop mine waste management plans aligned with client objectives, environmental regulations, permitting requirements, and recognized industry standards.
  • •Monitor facility performance, evaluate data, and recommend improvements to manage risk and support responsible operations.
  • •Produce clear, data-driven technical reports and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams through project planning, design, construction, and execution.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: CAD 90,100 - 130,800

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in civil, geotechnical, mining, or a related engineering discipline (master’s degree is an asset).
  • •5–7 years of relevant experience in mine waste management, tailings engineering, geotechnical engineering, or a related field.
  • •Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario, or eligibility for registration with Professional Engineers Ontario.
  • •Applied knowledge of geotechnical engineering for tailings storage facility design, waste rock management, stability assessment, seepage analysis, and construction oversight.
  • •Proficiency with geotechnical analysis software, including GeoStudio, to produce defensible engineering assessments and recommendations.
