Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide development management advice by reviewing planning application documentation for proposals affecting the Strategic Road Network.
  • •Lead high-quality technical reviews of transport assessments, interrogating calculations, assumptions, and related information, and communicating outcomes in technical notes.
  • •Support planning consultations and build strong relationships with the client and public-sector stakeholders, private developers, and other third parties.
  • •Assist with delivery of tasks by meeting deadlines, managing workload, and preparing/monitoring budgets.
  • •Mentor junior staff and use the technical team’s expertise to support project delivery.

Key Requirements

  • •A degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Spatial/Urban Planning, or a related field.
  • •Membership of a professional body such as CIHT, TPS, or CILT.
  • •Awareness/knowledge of UK transport planning principles, policies, and regulations.
  • •Experience in transport modelling (local, and ideally strategic).
  • •Proficiency with commonly used transport planning tools, plus excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
