Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide comprehensive orthopedic care including diagnosis, pre-operative care, operative procedures, and post-operative treatment within competence.
  • •Deliver out-patient orthopedic care in OPD and provide consultations to physicians and other surgeons/specialists.
  • •Assume after-hours responsibility for admitted orthopedic cases and make daily rounds.
  • •Refer or consult with specialists for cases beyond skill or experience.
  • •Maintain complete and accurate medical records and ensure work aligns with medical department bylaws/regulations and Joint Commission standards.

Key Requirements

  • •Graduation from an approved medical school plus one year internship and three years residency.
  • •Certification by the American Board of Orthopedic Medicine or Member of the Royal College of Orthopedicians (or equivalent).
  • •At least three years of practice limited to orthopedics since certification, with two or more years as a licensed specialist.
  • •Current licensure in country of origin and a DOH license to practice as an Orthopedic Specialist in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
  • •Excellent command of oral and written English; Arabic knowledge is desirable.
  • •Knowledge of surgical department policies and procedures, including confidentiality obligations.
  • •Highly skilled with mature clinical judgment and ability to provide professional leadership.
