Key Responsibilities

  • •Deliver safe, enjoyable, and progressive swim lessons aligned to the Swim England learn to swim framework.
  • •Support learners as they build confidence, including opportunities to progress to competitive swimming.
  • •Teach across the leisure centre environment and contribute to a welcoming, community-focused atmosphere.
  • •Develop your teaching career through ongoing training, CPDs, and the Aquatic Training Academy.
  • •Teach using flexible working hours based on available teaching hours around other commitments.

Key Requirements

  • •Hold either a STA Award/Certificate in Teaching Swimming or Swim England (previously ASA) Level 2.
  • •Provide excellent customer service and be comfortable teaching people of all ages and backgrounds.
  • •Advantageous (but not essential) to hold a valid RLSS UK NPLQ, RLSS UK NRASTC, or STA Safety Award for Teachers.
  • •Be able to deliver safe, fun, and progressive lessons following the Swim England learn to swim framework.
  • •Be willing to have safeguarding and DBS checks in place, with support provided by the employer.
