Key Responsibilities

  • •Design, develop, and build the API Operations toolset for Kong starting with deck.
  • •Keep up with Kong API runtimes (HTTP gateway, AI gateway, Event gateway, etc.) and enable new tool features.
  • •Shape the technical direction for the evolution of API Operations in collaboration with product leadership.
  • •Build CLI tools that work for humans and automation (e.g., within GitHub Actions and Jenkins).
  • •Ship API changes across multiple tools with minimal manual toil and support hiring and mentoring the team.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • •5+ years building high performance software with Golang.
  • •Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • •Prior operations experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools.
  • •Experience building APIs and standardizing API workflows in large organizations.
