Job Summary

Lead production readiness from first article through ramp-to-volume by owning DFx reviews, FAI/QA protocols, and revision control. You’ll bridge customers and suppliers, drive inclusion of design-for-manufacture, qualification plans, and ECN/ECO workflows, and manage programs end-to-end in a fast-moving hardware environment. This US-based, customer-facing role requires process mastery, strong collaboration with manufacturing partners, and travel to sites as needed to ensure scalable production.

Job Function: Manufacturing & Production Operations

Key Responsibilities

•Own the NPI funnel from RFQ to production, serving as the technical owner on programs progressing to production and coordinating with customers and suppliers to ensure readiness.
•Lead FAI, qualification, and quality protocols; define inspection sizes, cadence, and documentation, and manage audits and close-out findings with suppliers.
•Enforce configuration and revision control across drawings and changes; manage ECN/ECO flow and ensure alignment between customer, supplier, and internal teams.
•Be the technical project manager for programs end-to-end, including timelines, gate reviews, RAID, and executive updates; escalate and drive root-cause corrective actions.
•Act as the engineering link to suppliers, building cross-functional relationships, aligning on processes and tolerances, and performing knowledge transfer to ensure consistent on-shop-floor execution.

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•6+ years of hands-on manufacturing engineering, NPI, or production engineering experience at a contract manufacturer, OEM, or hardware company that took products from prototype to production.
•Experience running a real NPI program from DFM through PPAP/FAI/qualification through ramp to volume, with a solid war story of scale-up learnings.
•Hands-on experience with configuration control and revision management on parts used by customers; ECN/ECO processes are familiar to you.
•Deep fluency in FAI, control plans, inspection plans, and quality protocols (AS9102/PPAP/ISIR or equivalent).
•Ability to read mechanical drawings and CAD (PDF, STEP, SolidWorks); GD&T is second nature; exposure to multiple manufacturing processes (CNC, sheet metal, injection molding, castings, additive).
