Key Responsibilities

  • •Establish and lead a new Global Valuation Oversight function spanning all Alternatives capabilities and regions, with governance and resourcing aligned to global time zones.
  • •Own the end-to-end valuation governance and control framework, defining roles/accountabilities, committees, escalation routes, thresholds, and exception handling.
  • •Enhance and harmonise valuation policy, methodology, and process standards for complex/illiquid instruments, ensuring documentation and audit/regulatory defensibility.
  • •Provide independent oversight and credible challenge of valuation models, key inputs, and third parties, including thematic deep dives into higher-risk areas.
  • •Build and maintain MI/KRIs and lead remediation of control gaps; report to senior management and governance forums, while driving technology enablement for workflow, controls attestation, exception management, and audit trails.

Key Requirements

  • •Proven track record in valuation oversight, valuation governance, fund/product controllership, investment operations, or a closely related control function within alternatives/private markets.
  • •Strong technical understanding of valuing complex and illiquid assets across private markets, including valuation models, assumptions, input hierarchies, and limitations.
  • •Ability to design and embed global control frameworks in regulated environments.
  • •Demonstrated ability to lead cross-regional stakeholder management across Investment, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and Audit while maintaining independence and constructive challenge.
  • •Experience with third-party oversight (fund administrators, pricing vendors, external valuers, AIFMs, auditors) and producing audit/regulatory evidence trails.
