Key Responsibilities

  • •Act as an independent, trusted legal advisor to GCO and the wider business, identifying and handling legal risk.
  • •Provide commercial legal advice and support across business units, including drafting, reviewing, analyzing, and negotiating agreements and legal documents (e.g., procurement, marketing, sponsorship).
  • •Take instructions from and support the LST team leader and other lawyers/legal teams, primarily across APAC and EMEA as required.
  • •Support internal governance and approval processes by coordinating internal partners as needed.
  • •Instruct and collaborate with outside counsel to obtain, challenge, and finalize legal advice/opinions on projects and agreements.

Key Requirements

  • •Malaysia-qualified solicitor (or an equivalent common-law qualification with some experience advising on English law matters).
  • •Experience drafting and advising on commercial contracts in a practical, commercial manner with strong research and analytical skills.
  • •Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work in a team or autonomously under time pressure to meet deadlines and manage clients’ expectations.
  • •Cross-jurisdictional experience is preferred (e.g., EMEA, APAC, LACC).
  • •Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with clients, senior business people, legal management, and external regulators (oral and written).
