Job Summary

Tool & Die Specialist on the 2nd shift for SpaceX will commission, maintain, and repair injection molding, die casting, and stamping tooling. You will bridge production and maintenance, disassemble/reassemble molds safely, fabricate components, support troubleshooting, and drive tooling changes and scrap reduction with cross-functional teams across design and process engineering.

Key Responsibilities

•Maintenance, repair, and modification of molds for plastic injection and die casting of various sizes
•Disassembly and assembly of molds in a safe, efficient, and timely manner
•Repair and/or fabricate cores, cavities, and various other components
•Hand work repairs to part details, parting lines, lifters, slides, polished cavities, texture, venting, and spotting
•Identify and implement proactive systems to reduce manufacturing defects and productivity concerns

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or equivalency certificate
•5+ years of hands-on technician experience with tool maintenance and/or repair with plastic injection molds
•1+ years of welding experience
•7+ years of hands-on technician experience with tool and die maintenance and/or repair
•3+ years of professional experience with CNC machining of tool/die components
