Key Responsibilities

  • •Serve as primary operational leader for statutory reporting, with direct accountability for reserve accuracy and integrity of annual statement submissions.
  • •Lead quarterly and annual statutory reserve calculations across Athene’s U.S. product lines, owning the end-to-end valuation production process through reserve disclosures.
  • •Maintain and enhance reserve controls, documentation standards, and sign-off workflows to withstand external audit and regulatory review.
  • •Coordinate with external auditors as the primary statutory valuation contact and support any actuary-related regulatory examination activity with the Appointed Actuary.
  • •Operationalize new products, reinsurance transactions, and block acquisitions into statutory reserving processes, ensuring accurate reflection in reserve calculations and statutory filings; oversee capital template reporting inputs and scenarios.

Key Requirements

  • •ASA required (FSA strongly preferred).
  • •10+ years of actuarial experience with substantial exposure to statutory valuation, life/annuity reserving, cash flow testing, and regulatory reporting.
  • •Deep knowledge of U.S. statutory reserving frameworks including PBR, CARVM, and Asset Adequacy Testing under Iowa or NY regulations.
  • •Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a team of actuarial professionals.
  • •Strong working knowledge of annuity products and ability to communicate technical actuarial concepts to non-actuarial audiences.
