Job Summary

Lead the technical delivery of complex structural engineering projects for AECOM’s UK & Ireland Building Engineering team, with a focus on Defence, Aviation, and Education. Represent the technical team in client-facing settings, manage commercial and resourcing aspects, produce clear technical reports, and perform independent reviews and quality control. Support business development by developing client relationships, contributing to technical proposals, and helping win new projects across the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the technical delivery of complex structural engineering challenges, including commercial and resourcing aspects, while working without supervision.
•Provide technical leadership to develop the structural engineering team through client relationship management and business development.
•Prepare technical reports that clearly convey complex structural engineering concepts to clients and stakeholders.
•Perform independent technical reviews and quality control reviews of others’ work.
•Mentor and coach others, participate in technical proposals, and estimate engineering budgets and schedules for large projects.

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate Civil or Structural Engineering discipline.
•Proven ability in structural design using structural materials including steel and reinforced concrete.
•Experience in the analysis and design of seismically qualified structures.
•Knowledge of safety case interface within the nuclear sector and experience delivering projects within the defence sector.
•Ability to undertake structural design using current British Standards and Eurocodes and interpret finite element results into practical engineering solutions.
