Job Summary

Operate a commercial motor vehicle to transport live poultry from growers to the processing plant, prioritizing safe driving and public safety. Ensure full compliance with DOT safety rules and all company, local, state, and federal requirements. Perform and document pre-trip inspections, assist with loading/unloading, secure the load, and keep accurate equipment and trip documentation. Clean and maintain the truck by addressing issues and supporting safety and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities

•Exercise safe driving practices to transport live poultry from growers to the processing plant while ensuring public safety.
•Comply with DOT safety rules and regulations, company policies, and local, state and federal laws and regulations.
•Perform and document pre-trip inspections (e.g., tires, oil, fuel, lights, brakes, hoses).
•Assist with loading and unloading trailer as necessary and ensure the load is secure before movement.
•Maintain proper documentation (equipment, time, trips, weight), clean and wash the truck as needed, and report maintenance issues to a supervisor.

Key Requirements

•Minimum 21 years of age.
•Valid Class A CDL with 1 year verifiable satisfactory driving record.
•Knowledge of Department of Transportation, State and Federal laws.
•Ability to read and write legibly, with a sound work ethic, honesty, and moral character.
•Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate; must be willing to work a flexible schedule on any shift.
