Key Responsibilities

  • •Supervise archaeology field teams during fieldwork, ensuring adherence to timelines and safety protocols.
  • •Coordinate field activities with Field & Office Managers and document field strategies and staff issues.
  • •Take clear and accurate field notes and maintain effective on-site communication.
  • •Manage performance on site and motivate field staff to complete assigned work within set timelines.
  • •Ensure compliance with MCM Standards and Guidelines for Consultant Archaeologists and Indigenous cultural sensitivity.

Key Requirements

  • •Diploma/Certificate + 4 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • •Valid Applied Research (R) or Professional (P) class license issued by the Ontario Ministry of Citizenship and Multiculturalism (MCM)
  • •Valid Driver's License
  • •1+ field seasons independently supervising teams during Stage 2–4 archaeological assessments under own issued Research License required
  • •Experience operating high-precision GPS & Total Station equipment and data recording programs (i.e., Fulcrum & ArcGIS Collector)
