Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on vehicles and trailers in a mobile/field environment.
  • •Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment systems (including electrical/brake/cooling, steering, engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials) and trailer equipment/systems (including brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps/engines, liftgates, brake chambers).
  • •Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation.
  • •Maintain and manage parts inventory and equipment on the company-issued service truck, including periodic reconciliation.
  • •Complete DOT forms and Repair Orders (including photos, parts used, and findings) using a company-issued iOS device and proprietary TRAIT application.
Travel: Extensive travel

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of experience in a related field (or alternative combination such as education/certification beyond HS or 5 years’ experience).
  • •Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months.
  • •Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform job duties.
  • •Pass DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical (or submit a current DOT medical card with more than four months remaining).
  • •Must be at least 21 years or older; hold a valid state-of-residence driver’s license and be able to obtain/maintain a Driver Qualification File; safe drivers with 3 YR MVR review required.
