Job Summary

Design and build the core backend services for an AI-native context layer management system that enables agents to retrieve governed enterprise context. You’ll architect and operate ingestion, indexing, retrieval orchestration, and retrieval APIs for agent-facing integrations, building a scalable multi-tenant SaaS foundation. Work across product and infrastructure to balance fast iteration with long-term reliability, instrument services with observability, and shape technical direction as the team moves from prototype to production.

Key Responsibilities

•Design, implement, test, and operate backend services for context ingestion, context indexing, retrieval orchestration, API access, source configuration, and system administration.
•Help define and build a scalable multi-tenant SaaS foundation including tenant isolation, usage tracking, quotas, audit logs, background jobs, and service boundaries.
•Build agent-facing retrieval workflows by creating APIs and service interfaces for AI agents, MCP tools, CLIs, and internal applications to retrieve context, provenance, confidence signals, and warnings.
•Partner with product and infrastructure to make tradeoffs between rapid experimentation and long-term reliability as the system moves from prototype to production.
•Instrument and operate services with observability (metrics, logs, traces, alerts, and dashboards) to improve reliability and system behavior.

Salary: GBP 103,958 - 124,750 annually

Key Requirements

•Experience with AI technologies/frameworks, including LLMs, prompt engineering, and building GenAI-powered applications.
•Demonstrated track record of shipping software that reached production and is actively used by customers/users.
•Experience in cloud-native environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and with observability tools to troubleshoot system behavior.
•Comfort with quick iteration and experimentation through prototypes, feedback, and pragmatic iteration.
