Job Summary

Drive Environmental Health and Safety excellence at the Middleport plant by supporting safety systems and environmental compliance. Assist the EHS Manager with coaching, training, audits, observations, and investigations, and help improve environmental administrative and plant process systems to minimize waste. Participate in weekly safety meetings, lead near-miss and incident investigations, and monitor emerging regulations impacting the plant. Provide backup for environmental compliance and reporting tasks.

Key Responsibilities

•Promote and support the plant safety policy through training materials, training, audits, observations, and coaching to reduce risk.
•Administer and improve safety systems, including incident reporting and action item tracking, and implement safety improvements.
•Promote the plant environmental policy by applying environmental regulations, training others, and auditing plant performance for compliance.
•Assist with waste management and preparing required federal/state/local reports to support permit and regulatory compliance.
•Participate in and lead near-miss and incident investigations, and help review process changes and projects for safety and environmental soundness.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 80,000 - 110,000

Key Requirements

•BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or equivalent experience.
•Familiarity with federal and state environmental and safety rules and regulations (OSHA noted).
•Specialist I requires 4+ years of Environmental or Safety leadership experience (chemical industry preferred).
•Specialist II requires 6+ years of Environmental or Safety leadership experience (chemical industry preferred).
•Ability to keep abreast of and interpret regularly updated regulations and apply corrective/preventive actions to avoid non-compliances.
