  • •Act as the primary legal advisor embedded with product, engineering, and design from concept through launch and iteration.
  • •Advise on privacy and data protection by design, shaping data flows, consent, minimization, and retention across US and EU requirements.
  • •Own product intellectual property matters, including open-source license review/compliance, third-party IP clearance, trademarks, and patent strategy.
  • •Advise on financial regulation impacting product features, including money transmission/state licensing, BSA/AML/sanctions, and crypto/payments frameworks.
  • •Draft and negotiate product-related terms, partner with Compliance/Information Security/Marketing/Regulatory, and build scalable legal review and risk sign-off processes.

Key Requirements

  • •JD and active membership in good standing of at least one US state bar.
  • •6+ years of relevant legal experience, including significant in-house time advising product teams.
  • •Experience in fintech, payments, crypto, or another regulated technology environment.
  • •Working knowledge of privacy/data protection and how IP applies to software products, including open-source licensing and trademarks/patents.
  • •Practical, risk-based approach with strong cross-functional collaboration and comfort with ambiguity and speed.
