Job Summary

Install and troubleshoot audiovisual and collaboration systems for AVI-SPL contracted projects, including cabling, terminations, rack fabrication, and equipment integration. Lead installation crews on larger projects by mentoring Level 1–2 technicians and coordinating daily site status with the Project Manager. Read schematics/blueprints, use test equipment, support minor programming changes, coordinate with other trades, and provide on-site customer training while traveling to customer sites as required.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform installation tasks including cable pulls, terminations, system equipment/components installation, and rack fabrication and wiring layout.
•Lead and direct installation crews on larger projects, mentoring Level 1 and Level 2 technicians and verifying quality of work.
•Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints; use hand/power tools to solder and crimp connectors.
•Test and verify point-to-point cabling and system functionality; field load control/DSP systems as needed and support engineers/programmers with minor programming changes.
•Support Project Manager on site supervision and documentation, act as customer liaison for change requests, coordinate with other trades, and provide client training as needed.

Key Requirements

•Minimum of 4-6 years in audiovisual, electronics, or related industry installation experience.
•Advanced proficiency installing, terminating, and troubleshooting low-voltage cabling (HDMI, CAT5e/6, fiber optic) and wiring methods (conduit runs, cable trays).
•Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues with audiovisual equipment and understand network infrastructure integration (IP-based systems, streaming, cloud services).
•Strong ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints, and to use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
•Valid and current AVIXA CTS General Certification required; minimum high school diploma or equivalent required; valid driver’s license and an acceptable MVR required.
