Build and evolve CloudBees’ CDRO (Continuous Delivery & Release Orchestration) product used by enterprise engineering teams. Own Java work across the REST API, pipeline execution engine, and persistence layer while reducing complexity through subsystem modernization, shrinking product surface area, and improving test coverage. Use Claude Code as part of your workflow, write unit/integration tests, and document changes in an async, distributed team.

Key Responsibilities

•Own Java development across CDRO’s REST API, pipeline execution engine, and persistence layer.
•Continuously reduce complexity by modernizing subsystems, improving test coverage, and shrinking product surface area where appropriate.
•Use Claude Code as a normal part of your workflow to move faster without skipping thought.
•Write unit and integration tests to validate behavior and enable shift-left quality.
•Document what you build for an async, distributed team to reduce single points of failure.

Key Requirements

•Strong production Java experience working in codebases that matter if they break.
•Relational database experience with SQL plus JPA/Hibernate and schema migrations (Oracle or PostgreSQL is a plus).
•Ability to navigate large, mature, unfamiliar codebases by forming hypotheses and testing while staying functional.
•Testing discipline: write unit and integration tests as part of the work.
•Clear, honest communication in an async, distributed environment.
