Key Responsibilities

•Manage construction administration including drafting change orders, resolving field issues, interpreting specifications, and communicating with the contractor.
•Oversee construction oversight, inspection, quality control, material sampling, field/laboratory testing, and quality assurance.
•Facilitate decision-making using real-time project data by reviewing daily reports and managing field implementation of RFIs, design changes, and contractor non-conformance.
•Utilize project documentation software (AASHTOWare, ProjectSolve, GoFormZ, Procore) and streamline final documentation requirements.
•Coordinate progress and look-ahead meetings, serve as an intermediary for design-related disputes, and assist the owner in defense of project claims and negotiations of contract modifications.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Technology) or equivalent experience.
•Minimum of 7 years directing construction activities and crews on civil projects.
•Prequalification as a Construction Engineer Level 1/Construction Manager with ODOT for Ohio Specifications and/or certification as an Engineer-In-Training recognized by the Kentucky State Board of Licensure, with at least two years of engineering experience.
•ACI Level I certification plus field/inspection certifications including Aggregate Sampling Technician, Grade & Drain Level I Technician, Asphalt Field Technician, Structural Inspection Level I, KEPSC-RI qualification, and Work Zone Traffic Control Technician.
•Demonstrated ability to read and understand contract documents, with working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and materials, and effective oral and written communication skills.
