Key Responsibilities

  • •Identify and document deficiencies in roadway and bridge construction; communicate adjustments for contract compliance.
  • •Conduct daily site visits to monitor work-in-progress and ensure materials/workmanship meet specifications.
  • •Mentor junior team members and review their work to ensure quality assurance and best practices.
  • •Provide specialized inspections and written reports for bridge construction and owner verification activities.
  • •Supervise and mentor junior technicians performing OV audits and inspections.

Key Requirements

  • •High School diploma and 8 years of progressive roadway and bridge construction inspection experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • •Preferred: civil engineering degree or civil engineering technology/construction management degree with 3 years of related inspection experience; or two-year technical college with 8 years of related inspection experience; or high school and 15 years of OV inspection experience for a State Highway Agency.
  • •Experience with highway and bridge construction specifications, standards, materials, methods, and equipment.
  • •Ability to read and interpret complex construction plans and reports (BFI, pile driving, drilled shafts) and perform data-driven decisions.
  • •Valid US Driver’s License required to drive project vehicles; must pass Motor Vehicle Records review.
