Job Summary

Senior Construction Oversight Inspector on a major GDOT P3 transportation project, serving as liaison between the project owner and the construction team. You’ll supervise inspections of roadway and bridge work, ensure material quality and safety compliance, mentor junior staff, and produce formal written reports and QA documentation for OV activities across a high-profile 16-mile corridor in metro Atlanta.

Key Responsibilities

•Identify and document deficiencies in roadway and bridge construction; communicate adjustments for contract compliance.
•Conduct daily site visits to monitor work-in-progress and ensure materials/workmanship meet specifications.
•Mentor junior team members and review their work to ensure quality assurance and best practices.
•Provide specialized inspections and written reports for bridge construction and owner verification activities.
•Supervise and mentor junior technicians performing OV audits and inspections.

Key Requirements

•High School diploma and 8 years of progressive roadway and bridge construction inspection experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
•Preferred: civil engineering degree or civil engineering technology/construction management degree with 3 years of related inspection experience; or two-year technical college with 8 years of related inspection experience; or high school and 15 years of OV inspection experience for a State Highway Agency.
•Experience with highway and bridge construction specifications, standards, materials, methods, and equipment.
•Ability to read and interpret complex construction plans and reports (BFI, pile driving, drilled shafts) and perform data-driven decisions.
•Valid US Driver’s License required to drive project vehicles; must pass Motor Vehicle Records review.
