Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and optimize drill and blast plans, designs, and strategies to meet production targets and control fragmentation.
  • •Perform geological and geotechnical assessments and incorporate findings into blast design specifications.
  • •Coordinate with geologists, mine planners, and production teams to integrate drilling and blasting into mine schedules.
  • •Evaluate and select drilling equipment, explosives, initiation systems, and blasting accessories based on project requirements, cost-effectiveness, and safety.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, civil engineering, or related field; master’s degree or specialized drill & blast training preferred.
  • •4–10 years of experience in drill and blast engineering, with a track record executing operations in surface or underground mining.
  • •Strong technical expertise in blast design principles, rock mechanics, explosives engineering, and blasting techniques.
  • •Proficiency with blast modeling software (e.g., BlastXpert, Surpac, Vulcan).
  • •Knowledge of drilling equipment, explosives, initiation systems, blasting accessories, and relevant safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
