Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform general electrical maintenance and repair operations.
  • •Install and repair wiring systems and fixtures (e.g., switches, outlets, light fixtures, exhaust and circulation fans).
  • •Install and maintain electrical equipment including panels and facility equipment such as air conditioning units and water heaters.
  • •Locate and diagnose trouble in electrical systems or equipment, using blueprints and specifications.
  • •Estimate time/materials for work orders, requisition materials, and direct assigned helpers; perform QC/CS actions and possible on-call duties.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalent plus 4 years journeyman credited experience (or 5 years direct experience substitutable) in general electrical maintenance and facility repair.
  • •2 years experience in electrical operations, gained through a formal apprentice or training and experience.
  • •Ability to install, alter, maintain, and repair a variety of electrical equipment (e.g., generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, conduit systems).
  • •Knowledge of the National Electric Code and ability to read blueprints, sketches, and specifications.
  • •Ability to estimate time and materials for work orders and perform electrical work with independence and minimal supervision.
