Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and review Bridge design.
  • •Lead and review Bridge strengthening and repair, inspections and assessments.
  • •General civil and structural engineering support to other teams.
  • •Feasibility studies and options appraisals.
  • •Preparation/review of specifications, reports and health and safety risk assessments.

Key Requirements

  • •Professional qualification and membership with the Institution of Civil Engineers or Institution of Structural Engineers (CEng MICE or MIStructE)
  • •Practical knowledge and experience of bridge design, maintenance and assessment
  • •Understanding and experience of Eurocodes and/ or sector-specific codes and standards (e.g. Network Rail standards, DMRB)
  • •Experience of finite element analysis software and parametric design techniques
  • •Commercial awareness and experience of managing costs
