Key Responsibilities

  • •Clean and disinfect poultry houses and equipment (including vehicles/tractors) using a commercial pressure washer; operate equipment to remove litter and slats.
  • •Move birds as required to laying houses, live-haul birds, and assist with weigh days and selections.
  • •Perform scheduled vaccinations and blood pulls, ensuring HCO swabs are taken and labeled correctly.
  • •Mow/weed-eat/brush-hog grounds; set up poultry houses with shavings; spray pesticides and herbicides.
  • •Care for broiler chickens: feed/water by schedule, monitor environmental conditions, walk floors daily to check bird health, handle mortality, segregate/transfer birds as instructed, and record line/weights/medications/feed-water intake/mortality.
