Job Summary

Own end-to-end Linux vulnerability remediation and patch management for RHEL 7/8/9/10 servers, using Qualys to triage findings and drive SLA- and audit-ready closure. Develop and maintain automation with Chef, Ansible, Bash, and Ruby to convert manual steps into repeatable runbooks. Coordinate change management, validate re-scans, report metrics and risks to stakeholders, and partner with platform engineering to prevent recurrence.

Key Responsibilities

•Execute end-to-end remediation for Linux server vulnerabilities, including OS/package patching and configuration hardening.
•Triage vulnerability findings from Qualys and create actionable remediation plans based on exploitability, criticality, asset tiering, and operational risk.
•Develop and maintain remediation automation using Chef and Ansible, plus Bash/Ruby scripting for custom remediation logic and standardized runbooks.
•Validate remediation effectiveness by re-scanning in Qualys (and coordinating post-change verification to ensure no regressions).
•Drive remediation execution through change management, stakeholder updates, and cross-team coordination, including rollback steps and maintenance windows.

Key Requirements

•6-10 years of hands-on experience with RHEL 7/8/9/10 in enterprise environments.
•Proven vulnerability remediation and patch management experience for Linux servers.
•Expertise with Qualys (or equivalent scanners) to interpret findings, validate false positives, and verify closure.
•Production automation experience with Chef and/or Ansible.
•Strong scripting skills in Bash and working proficiency in Ruby (or ability to maintain/extend Ruby codebases).
