Key Responsibilities

  • •Define what regulatory defensibility means for agreement records in Real Estate, Health and Life Sciences, and Financial Services, and translate it into product and engineering requirements at design/roadmap stage.
  • •Own the vertical regulatory thesis and serve as the subject matter expert for product counsel teams supporting launches.
  • •Build reusable positions, answer library, and interpretation guidance, staying current as regulatory regimes change.
  • •Maintain alignment between compliance commitments and real product capability, including defining compensating controls when needed.
  • •Partner with commercial legal, privacy, and AI governance on customer-deal commitments and manage an intake flow for routine compliance questions.

Key Requirements

  • •Basic law degree from an accredited law school, and admitted to practice in good standing in at least one US jurisdiction.
  • •8+ years of law firm and/or in-house experience, including advising product and engineering teams in a regulated technology environment.
  • •Experience translating regulatory requirements into product and engineering requirements that shipped.
  • •Experience in at least one regulated vertical: health and life sciences, financial services, or payments.
  • •Experience serving as an internal expert other lawyers rely on, including advising on or approving customer-facing compliance representations.
