Job Summary

Build and improve threat detection and response capabilities within TikTok’s Global Security Organization. Research emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and exploits; develop detection methods using data-driven signals, threat modeling, and log analysis; and scale Detection-as-Code pipelines. Lead cross-functional projects to implement security controls, analyze incidents with response teams, and optimize automations. Apply AI/ML to develop innovative security solutions.

Key Responsibilities

•Research emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and exploits relevant to infrastructure and products.
•Develop detection methods to identify attack surfaces and build data-driven approaches using signals to detect threats.
•Lead cross-functional projects to implement and design security controls or tools for better protection and detection.
•Conduct in-depth analysis of security incidents and support incident response teams during investigations.
•Perform gap assessments and develop automations to scale detection and response capabilities, including behavioral detections from threat modeling and log analysis.

Key Requirements

•Strong understanding of security fundamentals across networks, hosts, applications, and containers to address security threats.
•Proficient with one or more security products (WAF, HIDS, NTA, EDR, or DLP) and best-practice frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK and NIST CSF.
•Proficient in one or more coding languages to analyze logs, identify anomalies, and propose detection strategies.
•Familiar with Detection-as-Code pipelines and integrating with in-house security tools to scale custom detections.
•Bachelors’ degree (or equivalent experience) in cybersecurity with a focus on security analytics and incident response.
