Key Responsibilities

  • •Own engineering strategy and architecture across card issuing, wallets, ledger, money movement, onchain settlement, and integrations with card networks and banking partners.
  • •Set and own the engineering quality bar across system design, code review, testing, observability, documentation, and technical decision-making.
  • •Go deep on high-consequence designs and architecture review, ensuring correctness for systems that move customer funds.
  • •Drive reliability, scalability, and operational excellence by establishing SLOs, improving incident response, and designing resilient systems with graceful degradation.
  • •Build security, compliance, and correctness into the platform by partnering with Risk, Compliance, and Security (including PCI/SOC 2 and fraud-control requirements).

Key Requirements

  • •15+ years building production software, including 8+ years leading engineers and meaningful time leading engineering managers.
  • •Deep experience with distributed backend systems at scale, including data modeling, consistency/idempotency, queues, and event-driven design.
  • •A track record of raising an engineering bar with measurable improvements in quality, velocity, or reliability.
  • •Real reliability ownership—carried a pager, ran incident command during serious outages, and built follow-through to prevent recurrence.
  • •Experience in payments/fintech/banking infrastructure (or similarly regulated domains) where correctness is non-negotiable.
