Key Responsibilities

  • •Ensure compliance with EPA and TCEQ hazardous and non-hazardous waste regulations.
  • •Assign DOT hazard classes and proper shipping descriptions; identify correct containers for waste management.
  • •Maintain and improve waste management systems covering classification, storage, transportation, disposal, and recycling.
  • •Prepare, review, and maintain waste manifests and Land Disposal Restriction forms and records; support regulatory reporting.
  • •Champion waste-reduction opportunities, inspect storage/accumulation areas, support spill cleanup and remediation, and manage consultants/contractors as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •Four year applicable Engineering or Science degree.
  • •Typically 5+ years of hands-on experience ensuring hazardous waste regulation compliance for chemical manufacturing, oil refining, or TSD (Treatment, Storage, and Disposal) facilities.
  • •Solid understanding of RCRA and waste management practices, including economics of waste management and disposal.
  • •Demonstrated experience interacting with a regulatory agency.
  • •Ability to understand chemical manufacturing processes and equipment along with a firm understanding of chemistry and math.
