Key Responsibilities

  • •Investigate assigned first-line incidents in the local datacenter/IT room environment and identify causes of standardized hardware, cabling, rack, power, port, connectivity, or physical infrastructure issues.
  • •Fulfill approved service requests and IMACD activities including rack & stack, installation, deinstallation, moves, hardware swaps, cabling work, labeling, tape handling, hard resets, and visual verification.
  • •Perform physical checks and maintenance/cleaning tasks such as temperature, power supply, airflow, cabling status, indicator checks, PDU redundancy, rack mapping, hot/cold aisle alignment, and basic hardware diagnostics.
  • •Support installation, removal, replacement, connection, testing, and physical verification for server, storage, backup, network, and security hardware, including backup/storage-adjacent tasks.
  • •Execute structured cabling activities (copper/fiber/patched cabling, inter-rack cabling, cable routing, port checks, cable reset, replacement of defective cables, labeling with hostnames and source/destination port information) and fully document work in ticket/asset/CMDB systems.

Key Requirements

  • •First experience troubleshooting and providing on-site support in datacenter, network, system, hardware, or monitoring services within an ICT organization.
  • •Basic practical knowledge of physical datacenter infrastructure (servers, storage/backup hardware, network components, racks, structured cabling, IT rooms, rack & stack, labeling, hardware replacement, remote hands, IMACD, break/fix).
  • •Experience using ticketing systems and documenting checks, implementations, handovers, and resolutions.
  • •Ability to work according to documented processes, runbooks, change approvals, security requirements, and quality standards.
  • •Fluent German and English; professional communication with customers, remote teams, vendors, and international colleagues.
