Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
  • •Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment across electrical, brake/cooling, starters/alternators, air conditioning, fan clutches, engine electronics, steering systems, engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
  • •Inspect, test, and diagnose defective equipment, including road testing vehicles and using tools such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
  • •Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on a company-issued service truck, including reconciliation and periodic maintenance of safety checks.
  • •Document work and findings on Repair Orders (RO), upload pictures using the iOS device and TRAIT application, and accurately complete DOT forms.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field (or alternative combination such as additional certification/degree or 5 years’ experience).
  • •Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months.
  • •Meet DOT FMCSA requirements: successfully complete and pass DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical (or submit a valid DOT medical card with more than four months remaining).
  • •Must be at least 21 years or older and have a valid state-of-residence driver’s license; maintain a Driver Qualification File.
  • •Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
