Key Responsibilities

  • •Conduct investment due diligence on funds and strategies across Greater China and ASEAN, forming independent evidence-based views on performance, risk exposures, drawdowns, liquidity, and peer positioning.
  • •Conduct organizational due diligence on asset managers, assessing operating platforms and control environments including governance, people, DR, BCP, cybersecurity, trading, operations, and cash/control.
  • •Produce high-quality research outputs such as due diligence notes, monitoring updates, and presentations with clear conclusions, key risks, and recommended actions.
  • •Maintain oversight of market and product developments (e.g., ESG, tokenization, digital assets) and translate intelligence into implications for product shelf design, client suitability, and governance.
  • •Collaborate with HSBC teams and external managers to obtain timely information, challenge appropriately, and support consistent outcomes across regions and channels.

Key Requirements

  • •3–5 years’ experience in the Funds/Asset Management industry or closely related fund research/selection with rigorous analysis and sound judgement.
  • •Strong understanding of financial markets and investment products, including regional product structures/regimes across Greater China and ASEAN.
  • •Advanced analytical capability with excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills to articulate independent opinions.
  • •Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with working knowledge of fund research tools such as Morningstar and Bloomberg.
  • •Fluent English and Mandarin (written and spoken); CFA/FRM beneficial.
