Key Responsibilities

  • •Carry out flood risk assessments and prepare project deliverables as assigned by senior team members.
  • •Support related work such as sustainable drainage design, planning application reviews, Local Flood Risk Management Strategies, permitting applications, and environmental assessments.
  • •Conduct site surveys to collect baseline information and support Section 19 investigations.
  • •Provide technical inputs for planning and permitting, including FRA and Water EIA inputs to planning applications and supporting DCO examinations or planning inquiries.
  • •Communicate and liaise with the project team and support junior staff by sharing knowledge and mentoring as part of the role.

Key Requirements

  • •Experience preparing Flood Risk Assessments and supporting skills such as flood risk modelling, flood risk strategy development, drainage design, or Water EIA (with some consultancy experience).
  • •Experience providing technical inputs for planning and permitting for major infrastructure projects, including FRA/Water EIA inputs and supporting DCO examinations or planning inquiries.
  • •Knowledge of the regulatory context for flood risk planning in the UK.
  • •Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • •A degree in a relevant environmental, geographical, science or engineering discipline and actively working towards chartered status with C.WEM, CEnv, CSci or CEng.
