Job Summary

Support low-TRL (up to TRL 6) R&D to advance combustion technologies for next-generation propulsion systems. Develop and refine gas turbine and novel jet engine combustor designs, including additive manufacturing-enabled concepts and advanced ignition systems. Conduct combustion test campaigns using advanced diagnostics (e.g., optical and pressure/emissions measurements), analyze experimental and simulation data, and prepare technical reports while collaborating with internal and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

•Support concept evaluation and early-stage R&D for advanced combustion systems, including microwave-assisted, plasma-assisted, and hybrid combustion.
•Develop and refine gas turbine combustor and novel jet engine combustor designs, including additive manufacturing-enabled concepts to reduce system losses and improve integration.
•Conduct combustion test campaigns and use advanced diagnostics such as chemiluminescence, laser-induced fluorescence, PIV, pressure measurements, emissions measurement, and high-speed imaging.
•Analyze experimental and simulation data to improve combustor design and support technology maturation.
•Prepare technical reports, test summaries, and design documentation, and collaborate with internal engineering teams and international R&D partners.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Combustion Science, or a related discipline.
•5–8 years of relevant experience in combustion design, gas turbine combustors, propulsion systems, or advanced combustion R&D.
•Strong understanding of combustor design including fuel-air mixing, flame stability, ignition, emissions, pressure loss, and operability.
•Experience with combustion testing and experimental diagnostics, data acquisition, CFD, combustion modelling, or simulation tools (highly desirable).
•Exposure to hydrogen combustion, sustainable fuels, and advanced combustion approaches (preferred).
