Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage preparation, review and submission of indirect tax returns across multiple jurisdictions, including UK VAT, EU VAT, OSS/IOSS, US sales tax and Intrastat.
  • •Review compliance outputs from external advisors and ensure accurate, on-time compliance; analyze large datasets for outliers and trends.
  • •Support cash flow forecasting, balance sheet reconciliations and indirect tax control framework activities; identify process weaknesses and recommend improvements.
  • •Support indirect tax audits and tax authority enquiries by coordinating data, reconciliations and responses and assisting with technical position papers.
  • •Provide practical VAT advice to internal teams and support transformation initiatives via automation, technology-enabled solutions, dashboards, reconciliations and SOPs.

Key Requirements

  • •Extensive indirect tax experience in an in-house tax team or Big 4/professional services, plus experience in a tax authority environment.
  • •Strong understanding of UK and EU VAT and cross-border e-commerce transactions.
  • •Knowledge of OSS/IOSS schemes and Intrastat reporting.
  • •Experience managing external advisors and compliance providers and supporting audit processes.
  • •Advanced Excel skills with experience analyzing large datasets; professional qualification (ATT, CTA, ACA or equivalent) or part-qualified is desirable.
