Key Responsibilities

  • •Act as Serco’s statutory UK Data Protection Officer and provide strategic oversight of privacy across the wider Group.
  • •Develop and evolve Serco’s global privacy framework, governance standards and assurance model.
  • •Advise senior leaders on complex privacy risks, regulatory requirements and emerging legislation.
  • •Provide independent oversight of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and high-risk processing activities.
  • •Lead privacy governance for personal data incidents and regulatory notifications, acting as a primary regulator and data subject contact within your DPO remit.

Key Requirements

  • •Extensive experience in a senior data protection, privacy, governance or compliance leadership role.
  • •Expert knowledge of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, with strong understanding of EU GDPR and other international privacy requirements.
  • •Experience operating in a complex, highly regulated or multinational organisation.
  • •Ability to translate legislation into pragmatic, risk-based advice that enables business success while maintaining compliance.
  • •Professional privacy qualifications such as CIPP/E or CIPM (or equivalent) would be highly desirable.
