Job Summary

Lead geotechnical engineering efforts for complex transportation and infrastructure projects in the Indianapolis area. Provide subject-matter leadership across due diligence, investigations, permitting, remediation, and testing, guiding design from concept to construction. Manage project teams, budgets, and client relationships, ensuring safety, QA/QC, and adherence to regulations while deploying advanced geotechnical methods and innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide oversight collecting and analyzing data from site work, soils, surveys, GIS data, and other matrices for project development, design, and construction.
•Apply high-level geotechnical techniques to identify improvements across project phases including concept, preliminary, final design, procurement, construction and operation.
•Lead investigations and inspections of site conditions, subsurface investigations, soil foundation engineering, settlement analysis, erosion, slope stability, and regulatory conformance.
•Develop construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, safety and phasing plans, and updated infrastructure layouts in coordination with owners, disciplines, sub-consultants, and clients.
•Manage design and construction of infrastructure projects from inception to completion, including rehabilitation and reconstruction, with supervision of subcontractors and personnel.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (or closely related discipline)
•10+ years of relevant post-education experience in geotechnical/infrastructure design (15+ preferred)
•Professional Engineer license in Indiana (multi-state preferred)
•Proficiency in civil/geotechnical/pavement engineering principles and design/build
•Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management
•Strong knowledge of construction laws, codes, regulations, permitting, and record-keeping
•Proficiency with technical computations and interpreting plans and specs
•Experience with inspections and investigations of site conditions
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with clients and teams
•Independent leadership with QA/QC adherence
