Key Responsibilities

  • •Review and approve inverter test specifications and change requests, acting as manufacturing test authority for traction inverter validation.
  • •Analyze and improve inverter EOL and sub-assembly test sequences, limits, cycle time, process flow, and failure-mode handling.
  • •Design and own inverter test system hardware, including system layout, HV/LV routing, connectorization, shielding, grounding, and thermal considerations.
  • •Develop modular, scalable test applications with operator interfaces, parameter management, fault messaging, and data logging; implement databases for traceability and correlation.
  • •Commission, validate, and launch inverter test systems into production; support ramp with limit tuning, yield improvement, and false-fail reduction, including training and supplier oversight.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Controls Systems Engineering, Electrical and Controls Engineering, or Automation and Control Engineering, plus at least 5 years of professional experience.
  • •5–8 years developing and launching automated test equipment in high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • •Direct experience testing EV traction inverters or high-power power electronics in manufacturing/production.
  • •Hands-on inverter EOL and in-process testing including functional power testing, PWM validation, phase current measurement, and hipot testing.
  • •Experience with inverter test hardware and electrical schematic design using AutoCAD/EPLAN, and National Instruments platforms such as PXI, cDAQ, or cRIO.
